SPHERE Collection’s Award-Winning Aesthetics for Modern Spaces

SPHERE Collection’s Award-Winning Aesthetics for Modern Spaces

Next post Previous post

The recent addition of the Golden Pin Design Award to the SPHERE Collection marks another milestone in SPIN’s journey to redefine ceiling fans as canvas for expression. Secured alongside the Red Dot Design Award and the Singapore Good Design Award (SG Mark), this latest honour provides an occasion to reflect on the design journey behind the collection.

Engineering the World’s First Corner Hugger Fan

The SPHERE Collection originated from a wind-turbine-inspired sketch, driven by the challenge of introducing airflow into layouts where standard center-ceiling mounting is not feasible. Resolving the limitations of traditional overhead fixtures required a four-year development cycle involving iterative prototyping, structural testing, and manufacturing refinement. The result is the world's first hugger corner fan, a dedicated format created to integrate seamlessly into curated interior aesthetics.

SPHERE’s 16-inch architectural form factor shifts climate control to previously underutilised areas. Its compact silhouette integrates an ultra dynamic direct current motor, delivering whisper-quiet performance without compromising air delivery. Multi-angle tilt capabilities and a 360-degree oscillation system allow precise directional control, allowing air to circulate evenly across walk-in closets, reading nooks, or study spaces.

Earning International Acclaim Across Red Dot, SG Mark, and Golden Pin

Both local and international recognitions surrounding the SPHERE Collection serves as a result of its engineering process. SPHERE's credentials stem directly from the panels at Red Dot, SG Mark, and the Golden Pin Design Award. These independent juries assess entries on technical execution, spatial purpose, and overall design.

The Red Dot Design Award stands among the world’s most prestigious design competitions, benchmarked alongside global innovators such as Apple and Bose. This honour highlights SPHERE’s novel corner-hugger silhouette and wind-turbine-inspired aerodynamic form, acknowledging a physical shape engineered from the ground up.

The Singapore Good Design Award (SG Mark), presented by the Design Business Chamber Singapore (DBCS), celebrates exceptional design solutions tailored for contemporary living environments. Winning under the Product Design category among 105 winners in various categories selected across international submissions from regions such as Australia and Taiwan, the award validates SPHERE’s place within global design standards. It acknowledges the collection’s spatial efficiency within compact urban layouts, confirming how its specialised footprint and five curated colourways: Carbon, Espada, Quincy, Savannah, and Caramel, integrate smoothly into refined interior concepts.

The Golden Pin Design Award serves as a premier mark of design excellence across Asia, aligning SPIN with leading regional brands. This celebrates the collection’s robust engineering, noting its multi-angle oscillation mechanics, quiet motor performance, and intuitive smart control features.

Together, these independent panels confirm the manufacturing rigour built into every detail of this collection.

Experience the SPHERE Collection

Multi-jury validation affirms the design innovation materialized in SPHERE.

From an initial wind-turbine-inspired concept to a multi-award winning design fixture, the SPHERE Collection resolves perimeter cooling without compromising ceiling layout or aesthetic balance.
